The story
Bafana Bafana international, Mihlali Mayambela, made his 100th appearance for Cypriot outfit, Aris Limassol, on Sunday in their narrow 1-0 win over AEK Larnaca.
Mayambela played the full 90 minutes in his milestone game, with his club posting a touching compilation video of the Kaizer Chiefs youth product on Instagram.
Aris are chasing back-to-back Cypriot First Division titles and are currently four points off the top, with their skilful 28-year-old South African making ten goal contributions in the league so far.
"Maya", as he's affectionately known, is a fan favourite at the club, and his 100th match allowed Aris Limassol to honour the versatile attacker for his services since joining in 2022, the same year he made his debut for Bafana Bafana.
"A championship title, a Super Cup victory, playing in the Europa League group stage, countless brilliant skills and incredible goals – this is exactly how Mihlali Mayambela's first 100 games for Aris looked!
"Congratulations on this milestone, and we believe there's still so much more to come," read a caption from Aris' IG post commemorating Mayambela's achievement.
