The story

To kick off September in style, global sportswear giant adidas teams up with iconic Japanese streetwear label BAPE® to launch a striking new soccer collection that fuses bold street style with the unifying spirit of the beautiful game.

Infused with BAPE®'s signature loud aesthetic and an American edge, the collaboration celebrates football’s global community and its ever-evolving culture.

Leading the campaign is Brazilian football legend Marcelo Vieira, whose charisma and legacy bring authenticity to the project.

A Real Madrid icon, Marcelo transformed the left-back role with flair, vision, and creativity, earning 25 major trophies during his 15-year stay at the Bernabéu.

The centrepiece of the collection includes two reimagined versions of adidas’ elite soccer cleats: the Predator Elite FT Firm Ground and the F50 Elite Firm Ground.

The Predator, known for its classic fold-over tongue, gets a bold makeover in BAPE®’s green ABC CAMO, with gold 3-Stripes, a lateral shark graphic, alternating gold logos on the tongues, and matching camo sockliners.

The F50 Elite, meanwhile, features a blue-to-pink gradient ABC CAMO upper, a medial shark motif, all-over clear stars, and alternating pink and blue sockliners. Complementing the footwear are statement accessories such as an ABC CAMO duffle bag, co-branded GORE-TEX gloves with BAPE STA™ grip detail, and a BABY MILO® shoulder bag.

Taking the collaboration from the pitch to the pavement, BAPE® also puts its spin on the classic adidas Originals Samba.

Originally crafted for the soccer field and now a staple of streetwear, the new Samba features a premium aniline-grained leather upper and a bold update to the signature suede toe with a rubber SKULL STA face.

The left and right shoes feature mirrored branding — one side with BAPE STA™, the other with adidas' iconic 3-Stripes — finished with gold foil detailing and camo sockliners. Two standout colourways are available: white with black and grey, and black with white accents.

Completing the collection is a range of high-impact apparel that bridges streetwear and sport. The offering includes ABC CAMO jerseys, shorts, and tights, plus a playful BABY MILO football tee. Showcased by a diverse and energetic cast, the collection highlights the dynamic intersection of lifestyle and performance.

The adidas x BAPE® Soccer Collection drops on 6th September in limited quantities, available at adidas.co.za and the Sandton Halo store, with prices ranging from R749 to R5,999.
