AC Milan's New Mural, How It Compares To Others In SA

AC Milan has received the mural treatment in the city, depicted in their new third kit...

We'll also take a look at other past murals done in honour of Pitso Mosimane and Willard Katsande.

What's the story?

Italian giants AC Milan had a mural done by graffiti street artist Luca Rancy.

The giant artwork depicts Milan stars such as Rafael Leao, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Olivier Giroud, Lucas Hernandez, and others in their green Away kit.

Football murals are also present here in South Africa, with Willard Katsande and Pitso Mosimane being immortalised through public art.

Street artist Luca Rancy put together a giant mural on a building wall in Milan to celebrate Puma's green third kit with AC Milan.

He combined an array of green shades and black graffiti to depict AC Milan's star and coach.

The artwork is titled 'That Milan Touch' and it took him four days to complete:

The Jingles Corner and Kitoko Makasi

South African football fans also get to enjoy street art done in honour of their heroes.

The Sundowns Gauteng South Supporters Branch honoured coach Pitso Mosimane with a giant mural titled, 'Jingles Corner'.

It comes with Mosimane's honours list, that's updated whenever he adds to his extensive trophy collection.

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande's catchphrase "Boss Ya Mboka, Kitoko Makasi" was used in a house mural using just the last two words, the Chiefs badge, and a drawing of him.

Katsande posted the artwork during the Covid-19 pandemic, where fans became familiar with his catchphrase, dance moves, and fashion sense.

Have your say on the AC Milan mural, how does it compare to local street art?
