Result: Kaizer Chiefs 2-2 Orlando Pirates

Date: 15 January 2017

Venue: Sinaba Stadium

Orlando Pirates struck late in the second half to secure a point, as they drew 2-2 with Kaizer Chiefs in their MDC encounter.

There was slow tempo to the opening 15 minutes, with both sides struggling to maintain possession of the ball.

It was Chiefs who eventually broke the deadlock after 22 minutes when Itumeleng Shopane poked the ball beyond Tsotetsi, after an error from the Pirates defence.

Chiefs doubled their advantage after 30 minutes when Pirates defender Lehlohonolo Mtshali deflected the ball into his own from close range.

Pirates coach, Benson Mhlongo was not happy with what he saw and opted for a change in the 35th minute as Sentsho replaced Molaba.

The Buccaneers pulled one back five minutes before the break when Yusuf Maart curled home a fine free-kick from 25-yards out.

Chiefs continued to enjoy nost of the possession in the opening 15 minutes of the second half, although they did not show any urgency to get a third goal.

However, Amakhosi picked up the tempo after the 70-minute mark, and went close with long range efforts from Wiseman Meyiwa and Tshidiso Monamodi.

The Buccaneers pushed numbers forward in search of an equaliser, although they struggled to carve out any clear-cut chances due to their decision-making in the final third.

However, Pirates eventually leveled matters in the 90th minute when Brian Hlongwa turned home a corner with an awkward finish to ensure both sides earn a share of the spoils.

Here's how they lined up:

Chiefs: Bvuma, Thibedi, Ngcobo, Ngezana, Ntiya-Ntiya, Khiba, Meyiwa, N.Ngcobo, Shopane, Sithole, Khumalo.

Pirates: Tsotetsi, Job, Mtshali, Hlongwa, Lechaba, Molaba, Maart, Peters, Lourenco, Mzila, Khaukanani.
