Khuzwayo Finally Gets To Play

The wait is over for Brilliant Khuzwayo…well, sort of.

Following his move from Kaizer Chiefs to rivals Orlando Pirates as a free agent at the start of the 2018/19 season, the goalkeeper has been struggling with an ankle injury that's denied him an official debut for his new club.

But he now looks set for a comeback – with the reserve team on Sunday afternoon when Pirates' Multichoice Diski Challenge side takes on Chippa United at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in East London.

Khuzwayo took to his Twitter and Instagram account to reveal that he was finally fit to play competitive football and that he was hungry for action.

There has been an outcry from Pirates fans to see the former SA junior international back between the sticks to try and displace Siyabonga Mpontshane and Jackson Mabokgwane as first and second choice respectively.

Last month Khuzwayo pleaded with the Buccaneers faithful to be patient, arguing that he needed to be cautious with his recovery.

"Bayern Munich rushed Manuel Neuer back on the field after a foot injury and he almost didn't make it to the World Cup, please be careful Brilliant. Don't rush it, go back to the field when you are 100 %," Khuzwayo shared this message from his former goalkeeper coach at Chiefs, Rainer Dinkelacker.
