DStv Diski Challenge wrap: Kaizer Chiefs Run Riot, Orlando Pirates Keep 100% Record

Kaizer Chiefs won back-to-back matches for the first time in Group 2 after hammering Bloemfontein Celtic 4-0 on Saturday morning at Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium.

Lebohang Lesako scored in either half to complete his brace while Tshepo Mohlala and Mdaka scored first-half goals to give Chiefs a commanding lead.

Orlando Pirates maintained their 100 percent record and grabbed top spot in Group 2 after edging Black Leopards 2-1 on Saturday morning at Rand Stadium.

Boitumelo Radiopane had a big chance to give Pirates the lead from the penalty spot early in the first stanza but his spot-kick was saved by the Leopards goalkeeper.

Radiopane made amends as he broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark for the Buccaneers but the hosts were pegged back a few minutes later after Lidoda Duvha found the equaliser.

However, Pirates were awarded another penalty four minutes from the break and Sifiso Luthuli stepped up and made no mistake from the spot to seal all the three points that took the Buccaneers to the top of Group 2.

Mamelodi Sundowns' perfect start in Group 2 came to an end after narrowly losing to Baroka in a five-goal thriller on Sunday morning at the at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Sundowns came to the game on the back of two consecutive victories but they surrendered their top spot to Pirates and dropped down to third on the mini log, while Bakgaga, who are unbeaten, went up to second.

SuperSport United remained winless in Group 1 after a 2-1 defeat to AmaZulu, who remained unbeaten on Saturday afternoon at Mpumalanga Stadium.

Keenan Bezuidenhout gave Matsatsantsa an early lead in the fourth minute but Sandile Khumalo snatched the equaliser for Usuthu just after the half-hour mark.

Lindani Shange netted the winner for the KwaZulu-Natal side just after the hour-mark.
