DStv Diski Challenge Wrap: 22-23 January 2022

Chippa United 1-4 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs climbed from tenth to eight spot on the table through a 4-1 win over Chippa United, who suffered yet another defeat.

Wandile Duba had the Amakhosi on the up earlier in the first spell before Mthokozisi Balakazi made it two in the second stanza.

As Chiefs debuted teen sensation Mfundo Vilakazi signed from the Philly Games, Kayden Francis gave Chippa a lifeline but Puso Dithejane and a certain Vilakazi put the Amakhosi out of sight.

Orlando Pirates 0-2 TS Galaxy

Orlando Pirates' eight-match winning run in the DStv Diski Challenge was brought to an end following a 2-0 loss to TS Galaxy at the Rand Stadium.

The loss does leave the Buccaneers on top of the league table, as goals in either half from Zulu landed the Rockets victory and fourth spot too.

Royal AM 2-4 Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns managed to get back to winning ways with a 4-2 victory over Royal AM right at the Princess Magogo Stadium in the KwaZulu-Natal province.

The Brazilians were off the mark in blistering fashion as Ndzalama Mhangwana, Thato Matli and Christopher Mbhele handed them a three-goal cushion inside the first 20 minutes of the match.

Xolani Phewa and a stunning free-kick from Philani Khumalo gave AM a glimmer of hope, but Masandawana obtained advantage through Oageng Phiri despite seeing Mbhele dismissed.

Marumo Gallants FC 0-3 Stellenbosch FC

Stellenbosch FC got their campaign back on track following an inconsistent run of form to record a 3-0 triumph over Marumo Gallants FC.

As it's another heavy loss for Gallants, the victory helped the Maroons to stabilise second spot through Jayden Adams, Fuad Johnson and Shawn Isaacs.

Maritzburg United 2-3 SuperSport United

SuperSport United were able to come from two goals down in the second half against Maritzburg United to record a 3-2 victory.

The Team of Choice raced into a two-goal lead after halftime through Samkelo Dlamika and Ashley Wyngaard before three strikes from Sibusiso Maziko brought Matsatsantsa back from the dead.

Sekhukhune United 0-1 Golden Arrows

Sekhukhune United weren't able to register back-to-back wins as a 1-0 loss away to Golden Arrows saw them lose ground with the top-half contingent.

Abafana Besthende banked on the services of Siyabonga Ndlozi for the winner that directed them to back-to-back wins in the process.

Cape Town City 1-2 Swallows FC

Swallows FC registered only their third win of the season courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Cape Town City to move off the foot of the table.

Following last week's hammering by Orlando Pirates, the Dube Birds saw two penalties late in the second half from Tiniko Sithole steered them over the line with Thabang Molaoa getting City's reply.

Other result:

Baroka FC 1-4 AmaZulu
