Mayoyo: Winning Will Mark The Comeback Of Pirates

Mayoyo: Winning Will Mark The Comeback Of Pirates

Legendary former goalkeeper Innocent Mayoyo is backing Orlando Pirates to defeat Kaizer Chiefs this weekend.

While a lot has been said about the Buccaneers possibly going into Saturday's match aiming for revenge after their recent loss against Chiefs in the DStv Premiership, others have said that Amakhosi can bring Bucs down to earth again after their big victory last weekend against AmaZulu.

However, Mayoyo believes that a win for Bucs could further improve their season which has been getting better under Jose Riveiro who led the team MTN8 success.

"I think Pirates has got an opportunity to maintain consistency. Winning the Soweto derby will mark the comeback of Pirates. Looking at everything and comparing the two teams, I think Pirates has got a chance to win against Chiefs, following their win against AmaZulu," said Mayoyo, speaking to the Siya crew.

"What I observed from the previous match between the two teams, Chiefs had more opportunities but the game itself was played in the true spirit of a derby and anyone could have won. Looking at the recent result for Pirates against AmaZulu and also their win against Sundowns, I think Pirates is the stronger of the two teams going into this weekend's match," he said.
