The Buccaneers currently sit second place on the Group B standings with three points after losing to group leaders Zamalek 2-1 in their last encounter. This Sunday, July 26, they face Tunisian side CS Sfaxien for their third group game.
The Pirates mentor is prepared for a tough competition and is not prepared to take any of his opponents lightly.
A certain faction of the football fraternity has claimed that the CCC is not a prestigious trophy, however speaking exclusively to Soccer Laduma, the Bucs coach rubbished those claims, noting that just the teams involved in Pirates' group carry plenty of stature and there will be no easy games.
"There's Zamalek – they've won the CAF Champions League five times previously. There's CS Sfaxien – they have won the CCC three times. There's AC Leopards, who we played in the CCL in 2013 and they beat us. It's an extremely tough competition and we are going to have to up our game if we want to progress," Tinkler said.
The Pirates squad flew out to Tunisia on Thursday evening to give themselves enough time to acclimatise and prepare for their clash in Sfax on Sunday.
