Result: URA 2-2 Orlando Pirates

Date: 04 April 2015

Venue: Mandela National Stadium

Orlando Pirates secured their spot in the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup after drawing 2-2 with URA at the Mandela National Stadium.

Pirates will meet CF Mounana from Gabon in the next round, playing away in the first leg.

Pirates had an early scare in the fifth minute against URA, when Issa Sarr miscued a cross but Brighton Mhlongo was on hand to keep the home side at bay.

The visitors were presented with an opportunity to take the lead in the 12th minute through Lennox Bacela but the striker failed to beat Brian Bwete in an one-on-one situation.

Pirates continued to create openings and went close again in the 17th minute when Sifiso Myeni forced Bwete into a fine save, after some good work by Oupa Manyisa.

Eric Tinkler's side started seeing more of the ball after the 30-minute mark but struggled to create openings.

However, the home side broke the deadlock in the 36th minute, courtesy of a long range strike from Yasser Mugerwa, to level matters in the tie, which made it 2-2 on aggregate.

Pirates leveled matters shortly after the halftime break thanks to a goal from Mpho Makola to put the visitors ahead on aggregate.

URA looked to hit back straight away and were nearly rewarded in the 60th minute when Kyeyune skipped past the defence before firing an effort just wide of the upright.

However, Pirates went in front in the 68th minute from the penalty spot, after Senkomi was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area, and Manyisa stepped up and made no mistake from 12-yards out.

The home side managed to level matters on the day in stoppage time, through a strike from Frank Kalanda, although it proved to be nothing more than a consolation goal, as they would have had to score at least two more to knockout Pirates.

Tinkler's side progress into the next round of the tournament, winning the tie 4-3 on aggregate.

Here's how they lined up:

URA: Bwete (G.K), Masaba (C), Munaaba, Mugabi, Senkoomi, Mugerwa, Kyeyune, Feni Ali, Ochan, Kigongo, Sekitto

Orlando Pirates: Mhlongo, Mahamutsa, Jele, Nyauza, Gcaba, Sarr, Ntshumayelo, Makola, Myeni, Manyisa, Bacela
