"Success in CAF competitions to revive Bafana Bafana"

"Success in CAF competitions to revive Bafana Bafana"

South African football teams are flying the flag high in the CAF competitions and Joseph Makhanya believes this current form will benefit Bafana Bafana to reclaim their spot in international football.

Mamelodi Sundowns, AmaZulu FC, Orlando Pirates and Marumo Gallants have reached group stages respectively in both CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup.

Dukuduku says now it is possible for the country to have another African champion and believes that coach Benni McCarthy has proven that Usuthu are not a one-season wonder.

"We've got four teams competing for CAF competitions from South Africa, and it tells us that we doing something right as a country and local coaches," Makhanya said, addressing the media in KZN during the MTN8 trophy tour.

"We just hope to see another star come end of this tournament and I'm sure Sundowns would want to add that.

"Coach Benni McCarthy has done well for AmaZulu FC to revive their power of the team in football. Many thought when he took the club to finish second in the DStv Premiership last season it was just a fluke, but with this progress now we can see that he means business."

Dukuduku says this progress also gives Bafana Bafana an opportunity to do well in international competitions as they currently enjoy a good run in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

"Also this progress gives us an opportunity to expose our players to international football which may be good for Bafana Bafana.

"It creates lots of experience and value of the country. This will revive our place in African football as one of the powerhouse of the game in the continent, as I said Bafana Bafana will definitely benefit from this."
