Pyramids are set to play in their first CAF Champions League final when they face Mamelodi Sundowns in Johannesburg on Saturday 25 May. The second leg of the final will take place in Cairo on 1 June.
With the Sky Blues travelling to Johannesburg on Wednesday, Jurcic reportedly revealed his side was determined to win the competition for the first time in the club's history, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm.
"Everyone here is motivated and fully prepared to play both legs of the final in order to seize the club’s first-ever continental title," Jurcic said, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm
The Croatian coach added that he had assessed Masandawana's performances and outlined a plan for the first leg.
"We’ve identified the opponent’s strengths and weaknesses and developed a balanced plan between attack and defence, hoping to return from South Africa with a positive result that strengthens our position ahead of the second leg," Jurcic added.
The club's sporting director, Motasem Salem, reportedly said the club has not received a response from the Egyptian Premier League regarding their request to postpone the league match against Ceramica Cleopatra, scheduled for 28 May.
He asked: "How are we supposed to deal with a league board that doesn’t treat all clubs equally, doesn’t support us, and instead obstructs us from fulfilling our national duty as Egypt’s representatives in the CAF Champions League final?"
