Sundowns were beaten 3-1 on the day and 3-2 on aggregate in their CAF Champions League first round tie, with the Congolese giants taking their place in the second round of group stage qualifiers.
It was reported during the build-up to the game that Pitso Mosimane's side had been locked out of the stadium prior to its start at 15h30, and while those reports were denied by many, Niang has confirmed their truth.
The Senegalese forward, who came on as a substitute and grabbed the assist for his side's consolation goal, says that Masandawana have nobody to blame but themselves.
Speaking to the Siya crew, the 31-year-old said, "The trip was intimidating, but at the end of the day we beat ourselves.
"They stopped us getting into the stadium to do a pitch inspection and we only got in an hour before the game kicked off, however that's no excuse, we could and should have got a better result."
