Both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns could be pitted against former CAF champions should they make it past the preliminary round.

Chiefs secured a comfortable victory in their first CAF Champions League game of 2016 this weekend by beating Volcan de Moroni 4-0, however Sundowns found things tougher in Zimbabwe as Chicken Inn recorded a 1-0 win.
The Amakhosi are now expected to finish the job in Durban at the end of the month, while Sundowns are also favourites to put on a better performance in Gauteng and see off their Zimbabwean challengers.
Should both sides manage to triumph in their respective legs, then they are likely to face ASEC Mimosas and AC Leopards respectively. Mimosas won the CCL back in 1998, while Leopards claimed the CAF Confederation Cup in 2012.
Victory for Sundowns would see them pitted against Leopards, who are already in the next round after avoiding the preliminary stage, while ASEC secured a 1-0 away win in their preliminary fixture against AS CotonTchad this weekend.
The second legs of the preliminary ties will be held on the last weekend of February, while the first round will take place midway through March next month.
