Kaizer Chiefs & Mamelodi Sundowns Know Their CAF Champions League Route

Kaizer Chiefs have been drawn against Comoros-based Volcan de Moroni in their first 2016 CAF Champions League tie, while Mamelodi Sundowns will travel to Chicken Inn.

Volcan de Moroni will host the Absa Premiership in the first leg of their preliminary round fixture, before Chiefs play the second leg at home.

Sundowns, meanwhile, travel to Zimbabwe for the first leg encounter against Chicken Inn, while they are at home for the second leg.

Chiefs qualified for Africa's biggest continental club tournament by virtue of winning the 2014/15 Absa Premiership title, while Sundowns are there after finishing second.

Masandawana are in the competition for the second year in a row, while the Amakhosi are competiting in their third consecutive CCL competition having returned in the 2014 edition, and both sides will be eager to put past disappointments behind them and make it into the group stage this year.

The first round of CAF fixtures in 2016 will take place on the 12th to 14th of February, with the CCL group stage qualifiers being decided after three rounds by the end of April.
