Eric Tinkler Sets Sights On CAF

Orlando Pirates care-taker coach, Eric Tinkler, has once again reiterated the club's desire to participate in the CAF Champions League next season. Sangweni Close To Bucs Return The Buccaneers advanced to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup following their 4-3 aggregate win against URA away in Uganda last weekend. The Parktown-outfit are now the only South African side left in a continental competition after both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns were booted out of the champions league. Tinkler told the Siya crew that their first mandate is to win the CAF Confederation Cup before they can play in the Champions League next season. "We want to win the Confederation Cup. It's one cup that the team hasn't won before, but this doesn't mean that we are not focusing on the local league. We are focusing on the league and we want to finish in a position which can qualify us for the Champions league next season. "So as a team we are focused on both the competitions we are still playing in," the former Bafana Bafana hard man concluded.
