The hosts went toe-to-toe with the Brazilians from the get-go as the game was evenly contested in the early stages. Obadiah Tarumbwa had one of the first real chances of the game in the 17th minute, but he sent his effort well over the top of the bar. Some good skill from Edmore Chirambadare saw him nutmeg Asavela Mbekile before sending a cross into the area, but Tarumbwa misses the ball. Mbekile was substituted shortly thereafter as he fell awkwardly. Chicken Inn opened the scoring in the 36th minute when Mischeck Katsvairo produced a terrific shot to find the back of Wayne Wayne Sandilands' goal.
