The Khosi Nation were left deflated after Kaizer Chiefs suffered a narrow defeat at home to Steve Barker's high-flying Stellenbosch FC side.

Check it out!

The story

Stellenbosch FC retained their spot second place after beating the Glamour Boys 1-0 at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening, curtesy of a Devin Titus strike.

This loss to Stellies is Chiefs' eighth of the current league season, as the Soweto giants remain in a lowly seventh place on the DStv Premiership table.

Chiefs' last win came in early March with a 1-0 victory at home over Golden Arrows, with Cavin Johnson's outfit only managing to win one of their last five matches and are currently on a three-match winless run.

Steve Barker's side on the other hand, made it three wins in their last four league outings, seeing them continue their late push for CAF Champions League qualification.

Stellies got their solitary goal on the stroke of half-time after right-back Deano Van Rooyen played in Devin Titus with a top pass from the right flank and the in-form Titus stabbed the ball past an advancing Bvuma into the bottom left corner of the net from a tight angle, to see the winger register his sixth goal of the season.

After showing confidence in their team's chances of grabbing all three points, with most predicting a 2-1 win, the Khosi Nation were incredibly disappointed with the effort shown by the players on the day.

Here's some of the post-match reactions from disgruntled Chiefs fans:

"Yeah it was a good game, both teams were attacking, but I think we lack creativity. We do not have creativity at all. If you can check our attempts at goal in the first half, I think there were none. I don't understand why he's playing Kwinika at right-back, when there is Solomons.... there's a lot that needs to be changed."

"We didn't play as we expected and the team can't even complete ten straight passes, it's very disappointing. I think the team and the coach need to go back to the drawing board because on the 30th of April, I don't think we can survive against Sundowns."

"Hlanti and Kwinika were poor and in attack, we were very poor. It was a very bad game for us."

"I came here for a fight but that didn't work out. You can't fight with someone who doesn't want to. Stellenbosch were here to relax and only get one goal and then travel back home. We showed that we were scared of them, we didn't take the game to them. Yes, we conceded first, that's fine, it's football, but why don't we try and attack them?

"And the coach could see that Hlanti wasn't doing well and didn't make a change. These guys don't play the football that we know anymore. They play for the fame and that doesn't work.

"Tomorrow, they must sit down and give this coach for him to resign and go home. We have to find a new coach, that's it."

"We don't have a team. That's the only thing that I can say. As a Kaizer Chiefs supporter I must say that this team should go to Chloorkop, just to camp for three weeks. Maybe to learn two or three things from Sundowns' players. Because what we've played here? Its an embarrassment. We can't be losing game after game as Kaizer Chiefs."

"At Kaizer Chiefs, they have this arrogance. They don't care about what we as supporters think or say. We can say everything and talk everywhere and all over social media but at the end of the day, Chiefs is just a store. They sell clothes. That's all, that's all they care about. We just come to the stadiums, sing and spend our hard-earned money. They don't care about us.
