The omission of the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season's joint second top goalscorer Bonginkosi Ntuli from the South African senior national team does not sit well with the player's camp, who have come out to offer support for the AmaZulu striker.
Ntuli has been on impressive form for AmaZulu, as he has been scoring crucial goals in the fight for the Durban-based club against relegation this season.
The 28-year-old has netted 12 out of the 14 goals for Usuthu so far this season, and is joint second on the league's goalscoring charts with Namibian forward Peter Shalulile of Highlands Park, as well as SuperSport United's Bradley Grobler, who is one of the strikers named in Bafana Bafana's latest squad.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Ntuli's representative Mandla Mthembu confirmed his disappointment at the Pietermaritzburg-born player's exclusion from coach Molefi Ntseki's team.
"Bongi's omission is unexplainable! Part of his target for the season was to break into the senior national team and his performances suggest that he should be part of the team. As his management team, we will encourage him to work even harder for his club," said Mthembu.
Ntuli will hope to continue from where he left off against Kaizer Chiefs with his scoring form, against Baroka FC in AmaZulu's next match on March 21 to keep the KZN club's survival chances alive.
