UWC Using Win Over Up-Tuks As Inspiration

UWC will be looking to their performances against UP-Tuks and NMMU Madibaz as inspiration ahead of the Cape derby against UCT. The Bellville-based students showed guts and hunger in those games as they scored late in the game to secure maximum points and will be hoping to display that same determination throughout the 90 minutes. They have blown hot and cold throughout the campaign and assistant coach Salie Adams is positive the squad has gelled enough to understand the only way to success is to play within the parametres of the team, rather than relying on individual brilliance. "Each individual needs to understand they form part of a team and the team has a certain dynamic. One or two players will stand-out as that is the way the game goes but the other members shouldn't try to emulate that. A team is greater than 11 individual players," he said. Adams went on to say he knows UCT have a good squad but their performances are an indication that something is missing or they are lacking in certain areas and UWC will be using that to their advantage. One major omission to the UWC side is the absence of influential playmaker Tapelo Sixishe.
