The Daily Telegraph has compiled a list of the best defenders in the world, and not one star in the top 10 plays in the Premier League. Take a look at the gallery to see where the likes of Gerard Pique, Sergio Ramos and Dani Alves are ranked.

The English publication looked at the top 25 defenders in the world, but we decided to look at the best 15.
Three Juventus defenders feature in the gallery, while two Real Madrid stars are also on the list – captain Sergio Ramos and Brazilian left back Marcelo.
Philipp Lahm, Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels and David Alaba of Bayern Munich all feature in the gallery, while only three players from the EPL were considered for the top 15 – Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk makes it, along with Tottenham Hotspur duo Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld.
Atletico Madrid's Diego Godin is one of a few defenders from La Liga, while Thiago Silva is the only player from France's Ligue 1 who features.
