Bayern Munich beat Inter Milan 1-0 in Shanghai on Tuesday, with Juventus target Mario Gotze scoring late in the second-half.
Both sides started the game in high tempo, with Bayern pressing Inter inside of their own half, forcing some early mistakes from the Italian side.
Douglas Costa looked an early threat for the German side, as the new-signing threatened the Nerazzurri defence with his pace and direct running.
Robert Lewandowski had two good opportunities early on, but the Pole failed to find the back of the net on both occasions, while Thomas Muller saw his 10th minute effort fly over the top.
Bayern continued to dominate proceedings, with David Alaba's 28th minute long range shot going just going past the upright. Pep Guardiola's men looked strong during the first half an hour, though they struggled to break the deadlock.
Philipp Lahm went agonizingly close in the 32nd minute, as his effort from inside the box was cleared off the line from Colombian international, Jeison Murillo. Despite no goals, Bayern put in great first half display, as they looked in control from the start.
The German side started the second half as they did the first despite some changes to the team, as Mario Gotze looked to find a way through Inter's resilient defence.
The second-half substitutions really took the flow out of the game, although Bayern still looked the better side with under 20 minutes to go.
As the game looked like it was headed for a draw, Gotze was played in behind Inter's defence in the 80th minute, before rounding the goalkeeper to slot the ball into the back of the net.
The game ended with just the one goal for Bayern, but Guardiola would have been impressed with what he saw from his side – who controlled the game for 90 minutes.
