Bayern went into half-time trailing 1-0 against Wolfsburg at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday, forcing Guardiola to introduce Lewandowski immediately after the break.
The Polish forward lit up the stadium, firing home five goals in eight minutes and 57 seconds for the Bavarians, much to the delight of his Spanish boss.
"I've never experienced such a thing, either as coach or as a player," he told reporters after the game.
"Five goals in nine minutes. I am very happy for Robert.
"You play poorly for 45 minutes and then grab five goals in nine minutes.
"I cannot explain it."
The striker's goals saw him break five Bundesliga records, including the fastest hat-trick in the league's history.
