France superstar Kylian Mbappe is said to have been left furious with teammate Olivier Giroud following the striker's comments to the media this week.
Speaking after Les Bleus' 3-0 friendly win over Bulgaria on Tuesday night, Giroud appeared to suggest he was not given the ball enough after he replaced the injured Karim Benzema in the first half.
The Chelsea forward, however, did score twice in the match, but later said that "people say I am discreet but it is because sometimes I ask for balls and they do not come to me. I try to make all the possible calls to my teammates and to give the team solutions in the area."
Many have perceived Giroud's remarks to be a dig at Mbappe, who was reportedly so angry with his colleague's comments that he wanted to call a press conference to address the situation.
According to L'Equipe, the 22-year-old Paris Saint-Germain star was instead told to focus on the upcoming 2020 UEFA European Championship, which is set to begin on Friday.
Mbappe will be key to France's hopes at the tournament over the next month, having played an integral role in his country's 2018 FIFA World Cup triumph.
