It has been reported that Mamelodi Sundowns will keep Ugandan goalstopper Dennis Onyango after he spent last season on loan with Bidvest Wits.
Stuck behind Moeneeb Josephs last season, Onyango only made four appearances for the Clever Boys, but he was a competent backup and I wonder if Wits should've tried to keep him at the club.
He's a solid keeper and he plays for the Uganda national team (whom he has recently joined for Afcon 2015 qualifying), while Josephs is 34 years old and getting older.
Though keepers often improve with age and Josephs had a stellar season last time round, it might have been prudent for Wits to bring 29-year-old Onyango on permanently to take Josephs' place eventually.
