The inaugural Nations League final took place in Portugal, and ended with the hosts becoming the first champions of the new tournament.

Four teams had qualified for the finals, with Portugal lifting the trophy after beating Netherlands in the decider.

With England securing third spot following a penalty shootout victory over Switzerland, all four teams have at least one representative in the Team of the Tournament.

After scoring a penalty himself before saving the final attempt by Josip Drmic, England's Jordan Pickford was included as the goalkeeper of the Nations League Dream Team.

At the back, UEFA selected wing-backs Kevin Mbabu of Switzerland and Raphael Guerreiro of Portugal, in addition to a three-man central defence, with the Netherlands' Matthijs de Ligt being joined by Portugal's Ruben Dias and Switzerland's Manuel Akanji.

The midfield consists of Dutch duo Frenkie de Jong and Marten de Roon, plus Portugal's Bernardo Silva, who was also named the Player of the Tournament.

Up front, Cristiano Ronaldo is joined by Memphis Depay after the latter assisted two goals in the Netherlands' semi-final win over England.

The Olympique Lyon forward seems to have shaken off his disappointing spell at United, where he struggled to live up to expectations, and has now scored five goals and assisted another six strikes in his past nine appearances for his country.
