Italy struck in the dying stages of the second half to secure a 1-0 win over Poland in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday evening.
The Italians were looking for a return to winning ways in the group after they lost to Portugal and drew with Poland in their opening two games.
Poland, meanwhile, went down 3-2 at the hands of Portugal in their last encounter on Thursday evening.
The visitors took control from the onset as Jorginho rattled the crossbar, before Lorenzo Insigne forced Wojciech Szczesny into a fine save in the opening 15 minutes.
The woodwork came to Italy's frustration once again in the 30th minute, with Insigne's instinctive flick crashing off the crossbar.
Szczesny was certainly the difference in the first half, as the Polish shot-stopper pulled off a few fine saves to deny the likes of Jorginho, Giorgio Chiellini and Alessandro Florenzi.
Italy continued to push for an opener in the second half, and they thought got the goal in the 65th minute as Insigne was flagged offside in the build up.
The chances continued fall for the visitors and Federico Bernardeschi should have put his side ahead on 70 minutes, but he somehow headed wide of the mark from close range, while Robert Lewandowski fired over the crossbar at the other end three minutes later.
However, the winning goal arrived second minute of time added on, with Cristiano Biraghi poking home from close range for his first international goal.
As a result, Poland have now been relegated to League B, while Italy will remain in League A.
