Date: 12 October 2018
Venue: Stade Roi Baudouin
Belgium moved to the top of the standings in their UEFA Nations Leeague group after sinking Switzerland 2-1 thanks to a brace from Romelu Lukaku on Friday night.
Yannick Carrasco came close to grabbing the lead for the Red Devils in the tenth minute with a header inside the box, but his effort sailed slightly wide.
Carrasco had another opportunity to break the deadlock for Roberto Martinez's troops in the 25th minute after finding space just outside the box, but Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer made a good stop.
Sommer was called upon yet again six minutes later, this time keeping out a powerful strike from Lukaku as the Red Devils upped the tempo.
The tempo of the match fizzled out towards the end of the half and the two sides went into the break goalless.
Lukaku finally found the breakthrough for the hosts two minutes before the hour mark with a strike from the centre of the box following an assist from Thomas Meunier, 1-0.
The Swiss looked for an equaliser and they were rewarded with 14 minutes remaining, as Mario Gavranovic levelled matters for Vladimir Petkovic's men with a close range finish following a set-piece.
However, Lukaku completed his brace and snatched the victory for the Red Devils with a left footed strike inside the box with six minutes remaining.
Belgium now have six points at the top of the table while Switzerland are second with three points, both after two matches.
