Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that that he asked Barcelona to let him go to Real Madrid, so that he could join up with Jose Mourinho.
Will Zlatan Come Back To Haunt Barca?
Ibrahimovic and Mourinho worked together at Inter Milan, and during his time at Barcelona he never saw eye to eye with manager Pep Guardiola.
Zlatan opened up in his autobiography, confirming that he asked Barcelona president Sandro Rosell to sell him to Real Madrid, as he wanted to reunite with former coach Jose Mourinho.
"I want to join Real Madrid", Ibrahimovic told Rosell, who "went white" before saying that he would allow "any option but that one. That's not going to be possible," Zlatan explained in his autobiography.
When asked if he would join anyone else, the Swede insisted that Real Madrid was the only place he wanted to go and Barcelona had to make it happen.
"You've asked me a question and I'm giving you an answer," he added
"Real Madrid are the only team where I can see myself playing, I like Mourinho but you need to call them and tell them," Ibrahimovic told the club president.
'Real Lacked The Balls To Sign Zlatan From Barca'
Zlatan ended up getting sold to AC Milan after his season-long stint at the Catalan club. Ibrahimovic will now face his former employers in Tuesday night's UEFA Champions League quarter-final second-leg.
