Lionel Messi netted a hat-trick to inspire FC Barcelona to a 7-0 thumping of Celtic in their opening UEFA Champions League clash.

Celtic got a lifeline after 23 minutes when Marc-Andre Ter Stegen brought down Moussa Dembele in the box. However, the Frenchman stepped up and had his spot-kick saved.
The visitors were punished for the miss, as Messi and Neymar combined wonderfully, before the Argentine poked home from six-yards out, 2-0.
The Scottish champions did have the ball in the back of the net just before the break, but Scott Sinclair was flagged offside.
Barcelona added a third goal five minutes into the second half, courtesy of a sublime free-kick from Neymar that sailed into the top corner.
Second-half substitute Andres Iniesta registered his name on the score-sheet in the 58th with a wonderful volley from the edge of the box, after getting on the end of Neymar's cross.
Messi completed his hat-trick a few moments later, when the Argentine turned home Luis Suarez's cross at the near post.
Suarez managed to get his name on the score-sheet in the 75th minute, as the Uruguayan controlled Neymar's lofted pass on his chest, before volleying home from six-yards out, 6-0.
Suarez rounded off the scoring in the 90th minute with a finish from six-yards out for his second of the game, after being teed up by Messi, 7-0
