Man Utd Fall To Bayern In 7-Goal Thriller, Arsenal Thrash PSV

Group A

Bayern Munich 4-3 Manchester United

Manchester United began their Champions League campaign with a 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

Leroy Sane opened the scoring for the Bavarians on 28 minutes with a speculative effort that sialed right under Andre Onane, before Serge Gnabry doubled the lead four minutes later.

Rasmus Hojlund pulled one back for United two minutes after the break, but the two-goal cushion was restored on 53 minutes when Harry Kane converted a penalty.

Mathys Tel bagged the fourth goal for the Bavarians after Casemiro pulled two goals back for the visitors.

Group B

Arsenal 4-0 PSV Eindhoven

Arsenal returned to the Champions League in fine style after thrashing PSV Eindhoven 4-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners raced into a three-goal in the first half thanks to strikes from Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus.

Martin Odegaard rounded off the scoring with 20 minutes left on the clock.

Sevilla 1-1 RC Lens

Sevill and RC Lens settled for a share of the spoils after playing to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday night.

Lucas Ocampos opened the scoring for the home side after just nine minutes, the French side were back on level terms in the 24th mintue thanks to Angelo Fulgini.

Group C

Real Madrid 1-0 Union Berlin

Real Madrid made a winning start to the group stages after defeating Union Berlin 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday evening.

Jude Bellingham was the hero for the home side after popping up with the winning goal in the fifth minute of time added on.

Braga 1-2 Napoli

Serie A champions Napoli began their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Sporting Brag.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo's first-half strike and an own goal from Sikou Niakate got the job done for the Italians, after Bruma had netted for the home side.

Group D

Benfica 0-2 Red Bull Salzburg

Benfica suffered a surprise 2-0 defeat to Red Bull Salzburg in their Champions League opener on Wednesday night.

Roko Simic opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 15 minutes after Antonio Silva was sent off two minutes earlier.

Oscar Gloukh wrapped the win for the Austrian side six minutes after the restart.

Real Sociedad 1-1 Inter Milan

Last season's finalists Inter Milan rescued a point away to Real Sociedad in their Champions League opener.

Brais Mendez looked to have given Sociedad all three points with his goal in the foruth minute, until Lautaro Martinez bagged the equaliser for Inter on 87 minutes.
