PSG had only one change as goalkeeper Keylor Navas came back from injury to retain his number one spot while Bayern opted to start Kingsley Coman ahead of Ivan Perisic.

The sides were cautious in the early exchanges but Neymar brought the game to life in the 17th minute after he went through inside the box and unleashed a low left-footed shot that that goalkeeper Manuel Neuer managed to deflect out.

Robert Lewandowski went even closet to breaking the deadlock for the Bavarians five minutes later with a turn-and-shot inside the box but his effort came off the bottom post, with Navas beaten.

Chances continued to fall for Thomas Tuchel's charges after Angel Di Maria pulled away clear on the right side of the box from Ander Herrera's pass but his right-footed strike sailed over the bar over the bar with only Neuer to beat.

Both goalkeepers were once again called upon in the latter stages as Navas reacted brilliantly to keep out Lewandowski's header while Neuer collected a tame effort from Mbappe, who was gifted time and space to shoot from just inside the box.

The match was tightly contested early in the second stanza but Bayern finally got the breakthrough just before the hour-mark after a lurking Coman powered a header into the bottom corner from Joshua Kimmich's cross..

Coman almost grabbed the second goal for Hansi-Dieter Flick's troops three minutes later after arriving late at the back post but after beating Neuer with a first-time strike from a cross his shot was cleared off the line by Thiago Silva.

At the other end, Marquinhos came close to bringing PSG back into the game with 20 minutes remaining after receiving a pass clear on goal on the right side but his powerful low shot was brilliantly saved by Neuer with his trailing leg.

The game was on the edge in the last ten minutes and Bayern had a chance to double their lead with a free-kick from outside the box but Coutinho's curling effort missed the near post slightly wide.

After constant pressure from the French champions, Bayern were able to hold out until the final whiste to clinch their first title since 2013 and sixth overall.
