Result: Borussia Dortmund 2-2 Real Madrid

Date: 27 September 2016

Venue: Signal Iduna Park

Borussia Dortmund came from behind twice to secure a 2-2 draw with Real Madrid at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday evening.

Dortmund looked very threatening in the early stages with the pace of Moussa Dembele and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Los Blancos broke the deadlock after 17 minutes as Gareth Bale's fine back-heel found Cristiano Ronaldo, who slammed home from close range.

Dortmund continued to push for an equaliser and went close in the 34th minute, as Keylor Navas palmed away Sokratis' header.

The home side eventually leveled matters just before the halftime break, as Aubameyang tapped home from close range after a dreadful error from Keylor Navas.

Thomas Tuchel opted for a change 10 minutes into the second half, as Andre Schurrle replaced Mario Gotze.

Los Blancos restored their lead after 68 minutes when Raphael Varane tapped in to an empty net, after Karim Benzema's shot crashed off the crossbar.

Dortmund pushed for a way back into the clash, but Navas produced a couple fine saves to keep out Andre Schurrle and Emre Mor after 80 minutes.

The home side eventually leveled matters in the 87th minute, as Andre Schurrle rifled home an unstoppable effort from close range.
