Real Madrid clinched their 11th UEFA Champions League title after beating Atletico Madrid 5-3 on penalties at the San Siro.
Real nearly went ahead after just five minutes when Casemiro connected with Gareth Bale's free-kick, however the Brazilian was denied by fine reflex save from Jan Oblak.
Los Blancos' early pressure paid off, as Gareth Bale's flick on found Sergio Ramos, who poked the ball home from three-yards out.
Atletico started to see a bit more of the ball after the 20-minute mark, but struggled to clear-cut chances and were restricted to long range efforts.
Despite Atletico's strong ending to the first half, the score remained 1-0 in favour of Real at the break.
Diego Simeone's charges were awarded a penalty two minutes into the second half when Pepe brought down Fernando Torres. Griezmann stepped up and struck his spot-kick against the crossbar.
Karim Benzema squandered a chance to double Los Blancos' lead in the 70th minute. The Frenchman was played through on goal by Luka Modric, but managed to fire straight at Oblak.
Atletico continued to press and they were rewarded in the 78th minute, as substitute Yannick Carrasco fired home close range, after getting on the end of Juanfran's cross.
Neither side could find a winning goal in the closing stages of the second half and the game ended all square, forcing the final into 30 minutes of extra time.
However, both side looked drained and struggled to create chances in extra-time, as the score remained 1-1, and the was to be decided by a penalty shoot-out.
It was Los Blancos who managed to hold their nerve, as they triumphed 5-3 in the shootout to clinch their 11th Champions League title.
