Lionel Messi is second among the top goalscorers of the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League group stage, while Cristiano Ronaldo is nowhere near the top.

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski leads the ranking with eight strikes in his six group stage appearances.

He is two goals ahead of Messi, who has netted six goals in the 2018/19 UCL campaign so far. The top duo are followed by six players who scored five goals in this year's group stage.

FC Porto's Moussa Marega is the highest-scoring African in this year's edition, having netted five times so far. The others with five strikes to their name are Neymar, Hoffenheim's Andrej Kramaric, Roma's Edin Dzeko, Juventus' Paulo Dybala and Ajax Amsterdam's Dusan Tadic.

Antoine Griezmann, Harry Kane, Borussia Dortmund's Raphael Guerreiro and Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi complete the competition's 12 top marksmen so far, having each scored four goals in the group stage.

Ronaldo, who finished the past six UCL campaigns as the top scorer, scored only one goal in this season's group stage.
