Sergio Ramos Reacts To Getting Real Madrid In the UEFA Champions League Re-Draw

Sergio Ramos Reacts To Getting Real Madrid In the UEFA Champions League Re-Draw

Paris Saint-Germain star Sergio Ramos has reacted to getting drawn with his former side Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League round of 16.

The Ligue 1 giants initially got Manchester United but the draw was re-done after an error and the club were then drawn alongside Los Blancos, which is set to be the tie of the round.

Ramos will now return to the club he left in the previous transfer window and where he spent 16 years of his professional career.

While the Spanish defender still has a lot love and respect for Los Blancos, he is now fully focused on defending the PSG badge for the clash.

"Fate is capricious. I would have liked another team to have played us," the 36-year-old told Marca.

"You know the affection and love I have for Real Madrid.

"Now it's my turn to defend PSG and I'll do everything possible to pass. It's the team that bet on me. I'm going to fight to death for PSG."

Ramos has admitted that the injuries have been tough to deal with this season after only making one appearance so far this campaign.

"It has been hard, different from what I have experienced in my career. Injuries have always respected me," he added.

"To feel like a player again is the important thing. Many hours of darkness, loneliness, but it has helped me to overcome challenges.

"It has helped me to know who were really there and who were not."
