Salah Reacts To Liverpool Missing Out On UCL Place

Mohamed Salah has reacted to Liverpool missing out on a place in next season's UEFA Champions League.

Mohamed Salah has issued a heartfelt response to Liverpool missing out on a spot in next season's UEFA Champions League following Manchester United's 4-1 win over Chelsea on Thursday night.

The Red Devils needed just a point at Old Trafford on Thursday night, but claimed all three as they put four goals past the Blues to secure a place in Europe's biggest club competition for the 2023/24 campaign.

As a result, the Reds will be without Champions League football next season as there is a four-point gap between Jurgen Klopp's side and Newcastle United in fourth place and a five-point gap between them and United in third with just one Premier League match remaining.

This means Liverpool will not be in the UCL for the first time in six campaigns, as well as Salah, who joined the Merseyside giants in 2017 from Roma and has since scored 33 goals in the continental tournament for the club.

The Egyptian took to social media late on Thursday to air his disappointment at his team's failure to finish in the top four, and was not in the mood for a positive outlook on the matter either.

"I'm totally devastated," he wrote in a post on Twitter.

"There's absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to make it to next year's Champions League and we failed.

"We are Liverpool and qualifying to the competition is the bare minimum. I am sorry but it's too soon for an uplifting or optimistic post. We let you and ourselves down."
