A Real Madrid player has revealed that after defeating Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final, some of the team openly made fun of Mohamed Salah.
Prior to Real's win over Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final, Salah made it known that he wanted to face Los Blancos so he could exact revenge on the Spanish giants for the 2017/18 final.
On that occasion, Los Merengues came out triumphant over the Reds with a 3-1 scoreline, while the Egyptian winger had to be substituted off early following a challenge by Sergio Ramos.
Four years on from that night in Kyiv, Ukraine, Salah would endure another night to forget for the six-time European champions as a solitary Vinicius Junior strike was enough to see Carlo Ancelotti's men get the better of the Merseyside club once again in a European Cup final.
Now, it has emerged, via Real winger Rodrygo, that some members of the Spanish giants' squad took immense delight in watching Salah trudge down the Stade de France tunnel with his head hanging.
"When a guy provokes you, sometimes you just want to win so you can make fun of them," the 21-year-old on the Podpah podcast.
"In training, we used to say "come on Salah, come on Salah".
"In our head, it was already 'we need to win to make fun of Salah'.
"After the final ended, we passed the Liverpool players in the corridor. Salah was a bit sad and (Luka) Modric said: 'Try again next time.' I started laughing."
