The 13-time European giants showed their mettle, albeit late, to knock last season's champions out of the competition with a 5-4 aggregate score.
Thomas Tuchel's men produced an exceptional display for the majority of the clash in Madrid, finding themselves 3-0 ahead and with a 4-3 lead on aggregate, but their joy would not last for longer than five minutes.
Following their third goal through Germany international Timo Werner in the 75th minute, Modric came up with an outside-of-the-foot, inch-perfect cross for Brazilian forward Rodrygo, who scored with a smart, first-time finish. The substitute's goal in the 80th minute took the game to extra-time.
Ramos Breaks Silence Over Future
Benzema, who went into the match with 11 UCL goals in eight matches, added yet another to his tally in the 96th minute with a headed effort, with Carlo Ancelotti's side able to hang on to their aggregate lead until the end of the 120 minutes.

Villarreal, meanwhile, shocked Europe with a 2-1 win over Bayern Munich over their two-legged tie.
