With his incredible first-half brace on Wednesday night, Benzema became the first French player to score 10 goals in a Champions League season, according to Stats Foot.

The 34-year-old forward completed his hat-trick early in the second half of the clash on Wednesday, before coming off in the 86th minute to much applause from Real's travelling supporters.
Real Madrid Star Confirmed To Be Leaving
It was Benzema's exploits that inspired the 13-time European champions to this stage of the competition, with his second-half hat-trick against Paris Saint-Germain at the Santiago Bernabeu last month securing their passage to the quarters.
