The Brazilian scored twice in stoppage time to force the tie to extra-time, before 34-year-old Benzema won a penalty for his side just five minutes into the allotted 30 minutes and duly converted his effort from 12 yards to bring up his 15th goal in the competition this season.
In doing so, the Frenchman equalled a remarkable record as he became the only player in history after his ex-colleague Ronaldo to strike on 10 occasions in the knockout rounds of a single Champions League campaign.

Benzema has enjoyed a spectacular season across all competitions for the Spanish giants, having scored 43 goals in as many matches and assisted a further 14 strikes, with many believing he is the current frontrunner for the 2022 Ballon d'Or award.
