Pep Hugely Impressed By 19-year-old Star
The German midfielder has been one of the most exciting prospects in European football for some time now.
The 19-year-old has played a starring role for the Bavarian giants since the 2020/21 season, and while he managed to register eight goals and six assists in all competitions last season, his efforts were not enough to see him win this year's Kopa Trophy, the award given to the best U21 player at the Ballon d'Or ceremony.
The Stuttgart native, already a three-time Bundesliga winner, finished third for the prize, behind Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga and winner Gavi.
Despite losing out to the Spaniard, though, the Chelsea youth product has insisted there are no hard feelings for his counterpart.
"All the nominees would have liked to win, but Gavi deserved it," he told AS.
"He is a great player who is also coming off a great season."
His sentiments are a stark contrast to that of his manager and teammates, who felt the Germany international was more deserving of the accolade.
Musiala also finished third for the latest Golden Boy award, but regardless of these podium finishes, he has shown he is not only a player for the future but also one for the present.
Just 16 games into the 2022/23 season and the midfielder has already bettered his goals and assists tally from the previous campaign.
The Bayern man has nine goals and eight assists in all competitions this season – no other teenager has scored more goals than him in Europe's top five leagues.
