Klopp Reacts To Shock Liverpool Loss

Jurgen Klopp has reacted to Liverpool's shock defeat to Everton in the Premier League.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp made a huge admission after the Reds suffered a shock defeat to Merseyside rivals Everton in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

The Reds were beaten 2-0 by their local rivals following goals from centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite and striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Klopp's side missed multiple chances as they looked to claw their way back into the encounter at Goodison Park, and ended the match with 76% possession and a tally of 23 attempts at goal compared to Everton's 16.

The result has dealt Liverpool's title hopes a significant blow, with the second-placed Reds now only a point in front of Manchester City, who still have two games in hand over them and current league leaders Arsenal.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be the place to be on Sunday as Tottenham host Arsenal in what will be a mouthwatering North London Derby! Speaking after his side's performance against the Toffees, Klopp seemed to suggest Liverpool's chances of qualifying for next season's UEFA Champions League could be threatened by Tottenham Hotspur.

"We need them (Manchester City) to lose games and historically they don't do that," he told Match of the Day.

"Arsenal didn't look very weak (on Tuesday night). We have to play better, that is it.

"We need points. We are not safe in the Champions League. Tottenham have played a lot of games less than us."

Spurs are currently fifth in the Premier League on 60 points, but have played two games less than three of the four teams in front of them.

The Lilywhites will go up against London rivals Arsenal on Sunday.
