Juventus stalwart Gianluigi Buffon snubbed Manchester United superstar David de Gea when naming who he thinks are the world's five best goalkeepers recently.

The 40-year-old, who could make his last appearance in the UEFA Champions League for the Serie A giants against Real Madrid on Wednesday night, needs his side to overturn a 3-0 deficit at the Santiago Bernabeu if they are to progress to the semi-finals of the competition.
Speaking ahead of the match against Los Blancos, Buffon, who has never lifted the Champions League trophy, stated that he is impressed with the wealth of goalkeeping talent in the game right now, and named those he thinks are the best, snubbing United stopper De Gea in the process.
"Putting my own country to one side, where there are many top goalkeepers, I would have to go for (Jan) Oblak, (Keylor) Navas, (Marc-Andre) Ter Stegen, (Manuel) Neuer, (Thibaut) Courtois," Buffon said, as quoted by the Daily Express.
"There are a number of goalkeepers who are performing really well. I think that Keylor is proving himself to be a very reliable goalkeeper.
"On many occasions, he has saved Real Madrid with some stunning stops. He has also shown himself to have great mental strength."

The Italian has made 649 appearances since joining the Bianconeri in 2001, keeping 307 clean sheets along the way.
