Previous reports have shown the contract saga with Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior has rambled on for months after the forward was the subject of sharp interest from the Saudi Pro League in what would have been a record deal at the time.
However, the ex-Flamengo star later revealed he had not considered a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu and hoped he could remain with the club for a long time.
“I hope I can stay here for many years. I’ve always said it’s the club of my life. I’m very happy with the coach and the staff, I hope I can stay,” the player said previously.
“I have a two-year contract until 2027. I want to stay for my entire career and make history in this team.”
According to Yahoo Sports, talks with the 2024 Ballon d'Or runner-up have reportedly stalled after the player's camp demanded a greater salary offer for the 25-year-old, one in line with Real Madrid's other star forward Kylian Mbappe.
Vinicius' party has reportedly blocked the contract talks with Real Madrid as they look to demand a contract worth €23 million (R470 million), including €1 million (R20 million) in bonuses, which would place him on the same level as Mbappe.
However, the club is only set to offer him €23 million without variables, which the Brazilian deems insufficient.
Vinicius is currently earning €20 million (R409 million), and the player's representatives believe it would make no sense for him to extend for three years under those terms.

The strategy is to hold out until 2026, when the Brazilian will only have one year left on his dealm but Real Madrid are hoping to avoid that scenario and without an agreement, they risk losing him for free in 2027.
