Having played with Ronaldo Nazario for both Real Madrid and Brazil, legendary left-back Roberto Carlos has claimed he "slept more times" with his Brazilian teammate than he did with his own wife.

Playing together for the Selecao since just before the 1994 FIFA World Cup, Carlos and Ronaldo, considered one of the greatest strikers all of time, became close friends quickly.
The pair then began playing together for Los Blancos in 2002, with Carlos stating in a recent interview that he has slept in the same room as his Brazilian colleague more than he has with his own partner.
"I met Ronaldo in 1993 and from that moment we always shared the room," he told AS.
"I've slept more times with Ronaldo than my wife."

Carlos also reminisced about the crazy times he had off the field as a Real player, revealing that he and his colleagues were always taking private trips around the world, even after games.
"Today, when I'm looking back, I think: how is it possible that we got away with so much craziness?" he added.
"After every game it was private jets left, right and centre. We'd meet up at the private terminal at Barajas and Beckham would be off god knows where, Figo and Zidane would be off somewhere or other, Ronaldo and me… and we always had to train the day after tomorrow.
"I used to pray for Saturday fixtures so I could go to the Formula 1 on Sunday. It was private jets all over the place. It was crazy."

Carlos made 527 appearances for the Spanish giants, and also represented Brazil on 125 occasions.
