Real Madrid have been struck a blow after one of their stars reportedly handed in a transfer request on Wednesday.

Having seemingly resolved the transfer sagas surrounding Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez, Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane has a new headache to worry about after one of his players reportedly asked to leave the club.
According to Marca, three-time Uefa Champions League-winning goalkeeper Keylor Navas has handed in a transfer request after it was made clear to him that he would remain Thibaut Courtois' deputy this season.
The 32-year-old was replaced by the Belgian international in the previous campaign and, after failing to reclaim his spot, is now said to want to leave the club in search of regular football elsewhere.

Navas' decision is reportedly motivated further by the fact that Real's 20-year-old goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who is currently on loan at Real Valladolid, has been guaranteed the back-up spot for next season.
The Costa Rican international was previously a target for reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, but the French giants have since turned their attention to AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma, as per reports.
It also remains to be seen whether or not Zidane would sanction Navas' departure from the Santiago Bernabeu, as there is currently no recognised alternative in the squad to cover Courtois.

The South American shot-stopper has made 162 appearances for Real since joining from Levante in 2014, and was in goal in each of the club's three consecutive Champions League triumphs between 2016 and 2018.
