Carlo Ancelotti's men defeated Cadiz CF 3-0 earlier in the day at the Santiago Bernabeu to put them on the brink.

However, the title was officially wrapped a couple hours later after Barcelona failed to beat city rivals Girona.

Los Blancos have now secured their first league title since the 2021/2022 campaign when Ancelotti returned to the club.
Overall, Madrid have moved on to 36 Spanish top-flight titles, which is nine more than arch-rivals Barcelona.
