James Rodriguez's New Club Confirmed?

James Rodriguez has returned to Real Madrid, but is reportedly not in Zinedine Zidane's plans and will soon be unveiled by his new club.

The Colombian playmaker impressed at the Copa America, where his nation was eliminated at the quarter-finals.

However, he still does not feature in Zidane's plans, and Real are close to selling the 27-year-old to Napoli, where he would link up with his former coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is currently in Madrid to finalise the deal, according to Marca. Los Blancos are asking for €42 million (R671 million), but the Serie A side want to loan him initially with an option to buy later.

"Our idea is to play with quality, this team is used to playing this type of football," Ancelotti recently said

"James is a player that I know very well and he brings a lot of quality. Unfortunately, he's not a Napoli player at the moment."

Rodriguez has also told Ancelotti that he is keen to join the Serie A side, even though Atletico Madrid have reportedly also enquired about his services.

Real, though, don't want to strengthen their cross-town rivals any further after already selling Marcos Llorente to them.

With only details still to be sorted out, Rodriguez is expected to be announced by Napoli soon.
