'James Rodriguez Is More Concerned About Fixing His Eyebrows & His Hair'

Colombian superstar James Rodriguez has been slammed for "caring more about his hair and eyebrows" than his physical condition after picking up another injury in Real Madrid's 1-1 draw with Real Valladolid this past weekend.

Last Saturday, James made his first appearance for Real since joining Bayern Munich on loan in July 2017, but his dream return was cut short after he was forced off by injury.

The Colombia international has been plagued by injuries since first arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2014, and a former national team doctor believes his woes are of his own doing.

Speaking to FutbolRed, Hector Fabio Cruz explained that, in his opinion, James' injury concerns are a result of poor preparation and a lack of self-discipline.

"The guy is distracted, instead of working to prepare himself for the new season, he's more concerned with fixing his eyebrows and his hair when he should be making sure he's physically in the best shape possible," Cruz said.

"A player who earns €7.5 million (R127 million) a year cannot allow himself to be blasé about his preparation. Big clubs like Madrid presume that all of their players are professionals, that they make sure they are fully prepared.

"This guy (James), his mind's not on it, he doesn't prepare. A player who spends months on end off the pitch, going from one party to another, how is he going to be fit to play?

"…If he really wants to put things right, he needs to change his mentality, his attitude. He's a tremendous player, but how is he going to sustain his career if he's not prepared to work at it?"

The former Monaco star has been ruled out for two to three weeks, adding to Los Blancos' growing injury list, which already includes the likes of Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, Isco and Rodrygo Goes.
